Sooooooooooo hydrating.
I adore this lipstick!!!! Granted, I wear bold and red lipcolor on a frequent basis, so I am comparing to other bold reds, but this Russet River color is more muted, wearable, everyday red. And, it might not even qualify as an actual red on all lips. It looks like a straight wine red in the image but in person it has more of a brown-red/brown-wine color to it. It’s very versatile and can be sheered out or built up to bold. I think it would qualify as red on most lips, but if you are looking for a classic Hollywood red or fire engine red, you’ll want another color. This one is amazing for every day, I think it would be perfect for fall, and it also reads a little classic 90s with that brown undertone. I would also suggest this red for those who aren’t sure about wearing red and want something less vibrant but still bold and in that red family. It’s probably my new favorite lipstick for the moment! I love browns and reds and this is the perfect marriage of the two.It’s also extremely hydrating and comfortable on the lips. I LOVE THIS FORMULA, though I have to admit it’s not transfer resistant, but it still doesn’t move around a lot and it does have a great wear time. These are sooooooooooo comfortable on the lips. I look forward to buying more!I also own the Blush Basin, and I think you should pass on that one. It’s a little patchy and straight up peach. Still comfortable, but a disappointing color.MakeupWearables blog has an excellent blog entry of swatches (Amazon doesn’t allow me to link you to them, so Google) and I think her images are accurate.Also, the smell sort of reminds me of play-dough (in a good way—didn’t we all have friend who ATE play-dough? I’m extremely happy with this lipstick! The color is vibrant, smooth, and looks exactly like the photos. It glides on easily, feels comfortable on the lips, and doesn’t dry them out.

Say YES to Burt’s Bees! [4.5 Stars]
I bought 4 of these lipsticks (Brimming Berry, Juniper Water, Suede Splash, and Russet River) after watching some reviews on YouTube. I was a little hesitant because of the price ($7 and up) but after purchasing them I can honestly say they are well worth it. They are super moisturizing without feeling sticky or heavy on your lips, the pigmentation is excellent, and the wear of the lipstick holds up fairly well.One thing I did notice was that if I didn’t eat or drink for a period of time the darker lipsticks left a faint stain, but it was very pretty, almost natural looking.Like some of the reviews say, there is a sort of smell to them, but to be honest it’s nothing different than any other lipstick I’ve bought (high end and drug store have this smell too).Reason behind 4.5 stars:My only complaint is that when I opened Suede Splash it looked like someone had already used it. Amazon Customer Service handled everything very easily (I just returned it for the exchange of a new one and will be receiving it shortly).If you’re on the fence about these lipsticks I would say go for it! They won’t let you down.

Not Moisturizing BUT it has Redeemable Qualities
Burt’s Bees Lipsticks aren’t moisturizing unless, after you apply the lipstick to your lips, you then apply a Burt’s Bees lip balm on top of it. If you tend to have dry skin anyway and you don’t apply a balm (or something!) on top of it, it will tend to dry out and make your lips appear shriveled or cracked – definitely not a good look. This is my second Burt’s Bees lipstick so I feel like it’s dry nature is just part of this product. However, and this is a big however, when compared to the many other more costly brands out there it’s a steal and the colors tend to be good quality and it stays on better than an off brand. So if I have to take a lipstick with me, I’ll take this inexpensive Burt’s Bees with me (accompanied by a lip balm or gloss) in case I loose it which, honestly happens more often than I’d like to admit. I gave it 3 stars for flattering because in my opinion it isn’t unless you apply a moisturizer or gloss on top of it.

Moisturizing Lipstick for kissable lips
I love the way this lipstick goes on smoothly moisturizing your lips with natural ingredients and the color Scarlet Soaked is superb. Because of its lightness it tends to vanish from your lips without you realizing it so you do need to reapply through out the day. I also use it as eye shadow and dab a little on my cheeks. Bottom line, I trust Burt’s Bees and so this is just another one to add to the list

Burt’s bees went to the dark side! No longer a natural or wholesome product but tainted with Titanium Dioxide. Titanium dioxide, found in candy, baked goods and gum, has been linked to gut microbiota disruptions, inflammation and genotoxicity in various studies. France and the EU banned the additive over health concerns, but the U.S. FDA continues to classify it as safe, relying on outdated assessments. Emerging research highlights risks from titanium dioxide nanoparticles, which can accumulate in the body and are associated with chronic illnesses like Alzheimer’s and inflammatory bowel disease. If you don’t care about what you put in or on your body, this product is for you. If you do care, stay away from Burts Bees, poison!

Lily Lake ist ein schöner Rosa-Ton der schon fast ins Pinke geht. Ich würde sagen es ist ein kühler Farbton. Dezent genug um alltagstauglich zu sein. Die Pflegewirkung ist auch gut, meine Lippen trocknen nicht aus und fühlen sich damit wohl. Natürlich hält er nicht ewig, aber für Naturkosmetik schon erstaunlich lange, ich muss nur nach dem Essen etwas nachlegen. Die Inhaltsstoffe sind auch in Ordnung (nach aktuellem Stand), auf jeden Fall besser als ein herkömmlicher Lippenstift. Ich bin rundum zufrieden.
