Effective Results That Last — With the Usual Epilator Tradeoffs
This epilator was used by my wife, who’s familiar with epilators already, so there wasn’t much of a learning curve going in. Her experience lined up pretty closely with expectations — effective hair removal with results that last noticeably longer than shaving.In terms of results, it does exactly what it’s supposed to do. Skin was smooth and long-lasting, with regrowth taking about 3–4 days, compared to 1–2 days with shaving. As always, regrowth varies from person to person, but the difference versus shaving was very clear.Pain-wise, it falls into the manageable category. If you’ve used an epilator before, nothing here will surprise you. For someone new to epilators, it definitely gets a “yeah… that stings” reaction — but interestingly, my daughter (first-time user) still kept using it. No redness, irritation, or ingrown hairs showed up afterward, which is always a good sign.Build quality is solid. It’s cordless, feels well-made, and the battery lasted through multiple sessions without needing a recharge. It’s also much quieter than an older epilator we have, which makes the whole experience a bit less intimidating. It’s also very nice looking. The battery level display is a real plus. And, two different sizes included make the kit very versatile.Cleaning is easy. The head is removable, it includes a small cleaning brush, and it’s fully rinseable — the manual even states it can be submerged, which simplifies maintenance quite a bit. Presently, at $45.99, this is a very well-priced kit. Ouch! And Effective!
I definitely saw a clear difference of before & after with this 4 in 1 epilator/razor set.It takes many passes to finally remove all the longer hairs. The very short ones do remain attached.But it does the job, with patient diligence.It does hurt as hairs get pulled from the root. But its not long lasting pain. Applying a soothing oil afterwards, to skin, makes a big difference.The razor doesn’t offer as clean, close a shave as a regular handheld razor blade would. I can still feel little hairs, but it does look better. I only noticed the remaining hairs upon close inspection.The mini epilator is a bit awkward to use on the face since it only rotates in one direction. If it’s spinning in the direction of the laid down hair, it can’t pull it up easily. Or, it will grab a hair and yank on it, but not pull it out. You must change hands or change the handle’s angle at which you’re rotating against the hair.The mini epilator head smells like melting plastic while it’s in operation. I didn’t notice a smell with the larger epilator.Charging is convenient & the cable is included but they arrived relatively, fully charged. So I just used the set initially before I charged it.What I like about this set, versus waxing, is that waxing pulls on the skin as well as the hair. This epilator simply pulls on the hair & root area, causing less skin irritation.
